Someone, somewhere, is thinking about the Black Flag discography. And they're realizing that after Damaged, everything they did sucked limp cold tool. And then they think "hey, those shitty albums were all after Rollins joined the band". At that moment, they realize Henry was the worst singer the band ever had, and he's mostly a pretentious dick who's so stuffed full of himself it's a wonder he doesn't explode.

There's everything up to and including Damaged, then there's the true Rollins era stuff. And the bulk of it is really terrible. Greg Ginn trying to rip off Flipper while an angry Rollins rants about the struggle of being the last true authentic man. It's as tiresome as I made it sound. Every once in a while, I'll listen to something like Slip It In, and think "this might be alright if it wasn't so aggressively awful".

Literally the number one reason I hate Rollins is because he blames his best friends murder on Rick Rubin.
Basically, every time that he's told this story lately (that he's been telling for 30+ years), he basically says "Rick Rubin came to my house driving a Bentley, and that's why our house was robbed."
He no longer blames the black gangsters who FUCKING SHOT HIS ROOMMATE and tried to kill him, he blames Rick Rubin for driving a nice car.
Even Rick Rubin may have internalized this, because Rubin no longer drives a Bentley, he now drives a very inconspicuous Toyota Tacoma.

No love for Slip It In, Loose Nut, or My War? I love those. The rest from that era was Greg Ginn being a tool. I get the hate for Henry but once he stopped trying to make music, he mellowed out a lot and stopped taking himself so seriously. I know it's an unpopular opinion here but I like him.
My War/1982 Demo is their best and anyone who says otherwise is basic as fuck, ie has different TasTe than I. I do like the later stuff more the older I get, but none of them are classic albums. They really were making Flipper Type Beats, only the lyrics were über narcissistic and ridiculous much of the time. Good "bad acid trip" stuff, though.
I like Henry about as much as I can like any other undiagnosed autist boomer. He has a sort of Glenn Danzig thing, where I bet one-on-one he's actually personable and funny but has this gay ass public persona that kind of self-perpetuates because he's a retarded contrarian that exited the real world at 19 years old.
That being said Dez's voice fit the sound best.
