(For those who don't know, Jeremy is a registered sex offender who really, really wants to be a police officer; he dresses like a cop, tells people he's a cop, tells people he's ex-special forces on a secret undercover mission... Since he's not allowed to actually be a cop, he's got a job escorting funeral processions. This involves driving sedately at the head of a funeral, obeying all of the road rules - speed limits, no lane splitting, no sirens, dressing like a civilian, all that jazz; but he gets to have a flashing white or purple light on his bike. Here's him doing that job; see if you can spot the one or two times he slips up.)
The lengthy version is here, but the short version is he's facing a lot of hefty charges (assault with a deadly weapon, impersonating a police officer, being a cunt) in Orange County; and some lesser charges inAreola Osceola County (impersonating a police officer, failure to register his address/phone number as a sex offender when travelling interstate to appear on Dr Phil's show as the Freak of the Week). His lawyer's been continually getting his trials pushed back; partly to negotiate a global plea bargain, and partly to let him sell off Metro State under judge's orders. Anyhow, he released a shit-eating video about how hard the prosecution's been working for him, trying to get him the best deal they can, but he'd be out for a while yet.... then someone wrote to the judge pointing out that the judge and DeWitte's lawyer had a lengthy relationship, and that this seemed to be reflected in the leniency the judge was showing him; and a day later the judge denies the motion to delay sentencing and hits him with a couple of 366 day sentences on the failure to register counts.
Tl, DR: Jeremy's got over a year - possibly three - on some minor charges, it's not looking good on his major ones; and a big "fuck you" to whoever got me hooked on this human train crash.
