Did any of you ever see this?

I had not yet formed my worldview completely when this aired and I remember thinking it was embarrassing for him to tell the story.

He took a friend of his who he really made it to seem like he wasn't having sex with to get an abortion, and he was proud of it. And there was no joke to it.

It's one of the oddest virtue signals I've ever seen. "I wasn't having sex with this girl and I took her to get an abortion." Like nigga what?

Eddie Murphy Delirious was good but I watched that at like 15-16
do you think comedy as a whole has dropped-off, or is it the politicisation of everything? (or maybe one leading to the other)

I'm trying to think of the last 'special' I enjoyed, I guess Shane Gillis was ok... but that was party weaving through the political in a fairly smart non-partisan way, but it was gut-busting hilarious... I guess I'll think on

I’m no expert (first time i’ve said that) on comedy but its probably the latter

So many left and right wing faggots who treat it as a clapter and just an hour to espouse their “deep” political thoughts thinking they’re Carlin or some shit

Theres probably a lot of it out there and i’m just not looking, but I want to find a comedian who does actual comedy. Like tells jokes and doesn’t shoehorn some gay point in. I don’t want to think, I want to laugh.

Amen brothaman. 'clapter', that was the word I was thinking but couldn't remember.

I can't even think of a modern comedian who isn't drifting that way, I dunno what Stavros does (not heard it), there's Sam Talent but he's a bit silly & not really my kinda thing, doesn't get political from what I remember. Not sure who else

Not to jerk off the fat fuck as we’ve all done for a decade but Patrice would be one of these guys if he were still around. Another problem I have with comedians is current event shit…think Jim Norton. No one is going to be thinking about the 2023 Ohio train derailment in 5 years. Be more funny

That bit was hilarious. He said he entered the clinic and was shocked it was full of kids. But when the girl he was with couldn't see them he realized that they were ghosts. He also said that someone told him to get the girl a house plant to make her feel better. But then he thought "that'll be another thing she won't take care of".

His entire set had a bunch of dead baby jokes and abortion jokes in it. It was the theme. He also joked that the abortion was easy because it some other asshole's kid and not his own.

I'm sure his buddy Seth Simmons hated it

He did have a couple of one-liners but my memory of the set still makes it seem odd to me.

He did his regular stand up of Emo Philips style one liners and then told a personal story about offending his family at his grandpa's funeral -- and per his story he did it to get points with other comics.

Then he tells another personal story and it's the abortion one. He threw a couple of one-liners out too but most of it seemed to be a sincere story of like "I did a good thing." And telling stories is not what Jeselnek does in his routine, or at least not what he did back then.

@NoBacon , comment?

Patrice was already acting like some "philosopher" and "truth teller," while still having jokes. If he didn't choose Oreos over being alive he'd definitely had followed the current trend, but probably still funnier.
