While it was happening, many of us were laughing at this very scenario. Nana pulled out the stops to avoid going to SC before and after his wobbly swamp shack was built, and only caved when his greasy dago ticker finally went on the fritz and he needed a FT caretaker. While the shitty contractors were throwing together his pressboard dump, he was busy overturning furniture in his squalid bachelor pad, washing Gavin's balls, and throwing garbage at Geno. I worked construction in the south for a while. The Mexicans were by far the hardest workers and always showed up on time but you had to keep on top of them to keep them on task.
The blacks were mostly unreliable and lazy of course.
By far the worst people to work with were the white people. All you got were ex- or current meth users or drunks, they were just as unreliable and lazy as the blacks but they also had an infuriating level of entitlement. One guy disappeared for 8 days on what turned out to be a meth bender that landed him in jail for 3 days, then he was so furious that he got fired that he threatened to go to the foreman’s house and kill his family. But hey at least he was white, right Nana?
