Not a single show was able to fight back in any meaningful way. Guys like Maxwell or Mancow tried but failed miserably. Stern literally was so afraid of being goofed on or criticized by O&A that he had lawyers gag them under threat from CBS.

In the end O&A had to Jocktober themselves. WBAB Roast, Bra Bombing, Child of the 80s, and so on. Any of the shows targeted in Jocktober could have pulled random O&A shows and mercilessly shit all over them. But instead they did nothing. In the end a few Jocktobered shows could hold their heads high like Terry Clifford or Scott and Todd. But most of them deserved their extreme beatings.

Once the show was broken up, Sirius only had to make sure that O&A would never reunite, that's why Opie was only fired (at an opportune time) after it was clear that the prospect of Opie&Anthony reuniting was done for good.
