This is just show business in general. Norton is a classic ladder pulling selfish loser. Constantly doing anything to make it one rung up the fame ladder in the most desperate and depraved ways. Then preventing anyone else from following him with any type of success. Opie was constantly telling the other comics to do their own podcasts or namedrop the O&A show to get their own gigs. Even Anthony tried (and failed) to give careers to people on his Compound Media network and would even pay people out of his own pocket.

Norton basically backstabbed Opie during O&A. Then lied to Anthony about moving to Compound and strung him along. Then lied again to Opie during the O&J years. And is now probably lying to Sam about his future when he just wants to do Norton and Prince Alan instead.
