the first game's narrative is superb, the atmosphere is sublime, but the gameplay is pure shite. fallout 2 is almost great, but it's bogged down by incessant pop culture references and deadpool-tier 4th wall jokes

Do those games still hold up? They are free on the epic games store this week

First one's fun. It's clunky, with old school RPG mechanics but it's very atmospheric and entertaining. It's very tight in terms of content, so you'll be disappointed if you're expecting New Vegas levels of questing and exploration. I'd give it a try, you're unlikely to regret it.

I've heard a lot of positive things about 2 but it has a worse opening than Pandora's box so I never got past that.
