it’s on my short list to watch I just started the shield after hearing about it for years and it’s good so I’ll try this one next. Wire was good and Belzer is cool so I bet it’ll be good with some 90s sax backgrounds

I should probably revisit it, I found it a bit dry/slow - only watched an episode or two cause I love cop shows and had Kotto from Alien in it. I understand it's the precursor to Wire but it isn't quite as exciting story/character wise as NYPD Blue or crack-addictive as the characters on Hill Street Blues.

I tried watching it after I watched The Wire, but couldn't get into it, it seemed incredibly dated. I later found out that all the music had been lazily overdubbed in the version I watched, so that probably affected my dislike of it.

I used to watch it when it was on, but I missed a lot of episode. The cast was constantly changing other than Belzer, Kotto, and a few others. Lifetime used to air old episodes, even though hardly any women were on it — a relief!

I tried watching it a couple of months ago but gave up after a while. Shame, cause it's usually the type of thing I like.

They did lots of shaky cam and like double take jump cuts in the first seasons. I'm sure it was really avant garde in 1990 but it probably stinks now.

I've tried getting into it a couple times over the years but it just never holds my attention.
