I lived in UT when Court McGee was on the come-up – pretty cool to see him still around and win.

Rountree is an NPC and I hope he remains a journeyman after Poatan KOs him.

Is the UFC dying out? I remember being excited for every PPV which was every month, but now I couldn’t even name a single champion. Seems like there’s no longer any mainstream hype.

We actually talked about this in another UFC thread this year. The talent pool is much bigger, so things are flattening out so to speak. It's hard to dominate and have exciting outcomes when people train so seriously in all disciplines.

70% of people on the roster are working full time jobs and doing UFC as a side gig. MMA is more of a hobby than a sport at this point. There are guys that are 'pros' making 12K a fight and then having to split that money with coaches, trainers, and corner and cut men. Imagine telling people you are a professional athlete in the biggest organization in your sport.....and you make less than a fast food wage slave.
