Yes, the visual hints at Silence of the Lambs were so arrogant. Jonathan Demme is brilliant, unlike the hack who directed this. If this is the Silence of the Lambs of our times then these are shitty, shitty times.

Cage sucked in this movie, no Ted Levine.

I laughed when she told her partner the perpetrator was inside the house and she still let him answer the door to just get shot in the face.

I like Cage, but his performance was so overhyped. Nice killing any tension because you couldn't tell him to dial down being cooky Cage a bit.

It was a colossal piece of shit. I’m glad I ended up streaming it for free while on a day off instead of paying to see it in theaters. The very last scene where he says, “hail satan” and does the kiss was so fucking stupid.

It wasn't very good. I liked that the female lead was just a reclusive sperg and not the sassy girl boss archetype you see so much of these days. They used cage too sparingly. I don't regret watching it but I do somewhat regret paying for it.
