As most of you might know, I discuss my love of cinema rather often. I go FAWKIN deep with Film Noir and 30's horror... Sniff

Well, Film Noir and early horrors roots go back to the German Expressionism of the 1920's. I've been slowly building up that collection, as Eureka here in Europe does some amazing works. Ever seen The Hands of Orlac? Just got that Blu Ray from the Masters of Cinema line, such atmosphere. And Conrad Veidt could do anything. He was Germany's Lon Chaney.

Any favorites of the German Expressionist Movement back there, Earl? Fucking starvin'!

I've mainly just watched (and loved) the horror stuff (Caligari, Nosferatu, Golem, etc) but I did see The Man Who Laughs a couple of years ago and it was decent even though the soundtrack was little jarring in places.

I never realized before but Veidt looks like Nana here:
