Been catching up on some old Intern David clips and they pranked him by having him interrupt R&F during a serious segment. Ronnie flipped out, and O&A thought it was hysterical that Ronnie hated David. What’s the story here?

Something like David would always stand outside the window like a mook and stare at them the entire show. Ronnie got fed up with it.

The show fed into David's sense of self-importance and nurtured it for the bit. Being head intern, giving the other interns performance reviews, giving him the David & Bobo show, whatever little things they could do so David felt he was above being just a mere intern.
So it basically was a matter of disrespect, that an intern could just strut into the R&F studio and say "hey stop talking about whatever you're talking about, it's time for me to be the center of attention". Expecting R&F to be pleasantly surprised at his unannounced appearance.
Then they convinced David to do it again.

He says it in the clip- I always like to treat people from O&A the exact opposite of how they treat them. This happened while O&A were holding Intern David up as the best intern ever.

Opie told David to barge into the studio during R&F, he said it's okay I told Ronnie, he'll be waiting for you to do it.
From here, either Ronnie knew about the bit and they were fucking with David to scare him again, or Ron was actually annoyed at David barging in and screaming during their show.
Whether Ron was in on it or not doesn't really matter, David cowered either way.
