True story. I grew up outside of boston. I wore a Dropkick shirt to school when i was...11/12/13(i think). The school nurse (Ken Keseys aunt) noticed my shirt and invited me over to meet the whole band. This wouldve been like 2001/2/3/4? I cant remember. It was when Al Barr was still w them. My timeline may be totally fucked. Idk. But i was fucking YOUNG. I met the whole band one day after school. They signed all my shit. Shirts, cds, etc. My dad dropped my brother and I off and we drank beer, smoked cigarettes, and blasted irish rock music together at like 4pm. They literally gave us, CLEARLY young underaged teens, cigarettes, beers and shots and "partied" with us in the early afternoon. It was cool as fuck at the time. But looking back, im like "what the fuck. We were fucking tiny underaged faggots. Why would they do that!?!?"

i worked with a guy who used to be their tour bus driver and he told me every last one of them is in the program and sober. I saw them a bunch of times on St. Paddy's day in Boston and if you don't know their songs they are fucking TERRIBLE live. Just screaming and croaking and banjo bullshit. I'll freely admit that Shippin Up to Boston and a handful of their other songs are good when you're loaded but they're Irish AC/DC with less hits.
