I can think fairly cogently, and I can write coherently if I try to, but when I need to speak it just turns words to dust in my mouth. I’ll know something back to front but when I’m trying to talk about it to someone my brain just screams “you don’t know this right now” - I can work on it and work out why it happens probably. It’s why I’m not that eager to go on podcasts.

Local authorities were trying to seize one of my grandparents plots of lands so it could be used as access for a utilities company, I found the deeds, the original land registry paperwork and fought against it in a town hall, and did my research and we won.

The rest of my family were just complaining endlessly about how unfair it was, but if I didn’t do that it would have just been stolen.

Pretty good advice. If you genuinely know what you’re talking about it makes it 100x easier. The most difficult public speaking I’ve done is delivering a training course to other trainers who had more experience than me as we learned it.

that's actually respectable. When I came back to this area from London (with nothing but a case full of failed dreams), I helped an old guy who owned some properties but wasn't really managing them well since his wife had past. Local authorities were trying all sorts of shit to fuck with him & I really stepped-up to that one... apparently if you're rich & own mansions, you don't get fucked-with, but if you locally own (lets say 6 properties) & you've decided to just enjoy them, then local authorities can even threaten to take them from you - even if you own them outright (no mortgage, etc).
And they were trying all sorts of sneakiness with this old guy, but since we'd become good friends & I'm a smartass - I fucking wrecked that local authority with human rights threats, & loadsa legal shit... we get his properties back into a good state of repair & use, but the council thought they could walk over him... he was a lovely guy & I was pleased to defend him.
It was odd how we met but he was like a father to me & we became good friends despite his old age. I basically saved him quarter £mil, which is why his family were so cool with me til the end
