His hustle has gotten himgijugs
He reminds me of one of those sccccumbags who walks around jerking himself off for making a rapper a millionaire, but the actual contract probably stipulates some bullshit that Serch owns the rights and royalties to Illmatic.Didn’t his grandma finance Illmatic? Which is how he made money for years until he sold the rights. He claimed on Arsenio that they made Nas a millionaire in the first week (to a round of applause) which I always doubted. Plus I thought he at least grew up in a very nice area. Not to say that they supported him forever but that’s a nice head start in life. Did his wife ever have a job?
Wannabe nigger rappers keep him around because he's a Kike and they think he can get one of the small hats to sign them. It's amazing to me that anyone is fooled into thinking he has any money. He's broke as a joke, and has been for many years. His family wasn't wealthy. His music career ended 30 years ago. He continually hustles his way into jobs where people who know him as a "celebrity" give him work hoping he will bring in other "celebrities" as clients. He doesn't, because he can't. He's not respected as much as they think.
Many artists know to act nice and be homies with everyone in the game. When push comes to shove, no one is putting Serch on their shows or events. They will verbally respect him, or say he's a legend, but you don't see them bringing him on stage, or putting him in front of a camera representing hip hop.
His hustle has gotten him gigs to help promote some big companies, the most recent is a resort in Orlando. They think he'll bring in some people with money to vacation or live in this resort community. He won't. He'll ride the paycheck as long as he can, and they'll let him go. Another bridge burnt, I'm sure.
He has no college degree. No formal background in marketing. He isn't dumb, so don't get me wrong. He's very intelligent and knows how to talk the talk. But his track record that he thinks shows success mostly has a trail of failed brands with names that are remembered as being good, but where are they now?

I think that’s why Nas didn’t work with Serch after that album. Serch loves to name drop Nas like they’re close while Nas doesn’t seem to feel the same way.He reminds me of one of those sccccumbags who walks around jerking himself off for making a rapper a millionaire, but the actual contract probably stipulates some bullshit that Serch owns the rights and royalties to Illmatic.
Nas put him on the pay no mind list a long time agoI think that’s why Nas didn’t work with Serch after that album. Serch loves to name drop Nas like they’re close while Nas doesn’t seem to feel the same way.
He only recently sold the rights and royalties to Illmatic. He even said, “it fed my family for a long time but it’s time to move on.” It only sold 59k albums in the first week and took 7 years to go platinum. I just looked it up on Wikipedia. He reminds me of one of those sccccumbags who walks around jerking himself off for making a rapper a millionaire, but the actual contract probably stipulates some bullshit that Serch owns the rights and royalties to Illmatic.

I don’t know where or what that is and I refuse to guh-gle it.He grew up in Far Rockaway
Yeah but you’re misunderstanding where the $$$ comes from. Sure, “pure sales” as PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY CALL ITHe only recently sold the rights and royalties to Illmatic. Serch got money for all of this. The song was featured in the video games Tony Hawk's Underground and NBA 2K13. It can also be heard in a scene in the 2002 film Antwone Fisher, and appears on the soundtrack for the 2008 film The Wackness. The song is also played in the 2015 film Dope.
Second half of my statement was pointing out that there’s no way he made Nas a millionaire in one week like he said. Also it’s kind of crazy to take 7 years to go platinum. More trying to point out that Serch ripped Nas off.Yeah but you’re misunderstanding where the $$$ comes from. Sure, “pure sales” as PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY CALL IT
But you also have to factor in digital streams, even if it’s not much. You also have to factor in anytime a song from Illmatic was used in a commercial, TV show, movie, or video game. Serch got money from aaaalll of that. Lets just look at one song:
