Fuck, you're right! Thanks why he did that! I think it's when Sinatra guest hosted too. Damn, Frank was actually a pretty good host. I wish we had a Carson when I was growing up.
Kilborn... Eh. He was ok, he tried to go against the grain like Conan before him and Craig after him - the latter not surprising, as again, it's well known Worldwide Pants owned that time slot as part of Letterman's deal to come to CBS, so any one that Dave put on, short of clear censor issues, was protected by Letterman and WP. Tom Snyder got it first, then Kilborn, then Ferguson. We don't talk about that fat cunt Corden becaude 1. Letterman and WP lost the slot and control once he retired (which is why Craig left too), and 2. Corden's show was God fucking awful, but most of all 3. CORDEN IS A FAT FUCKING CUNT.
Anyway, Kilborn, right. He always struck me as pretentious, and what I've seen I just couldn't get into. I like a dry humour, but Craig's was a Dennis Miller impression left out in the sun to dehydrate. I'm sure he has his defenders, but I'm not one of them.
Call me biased, as he's a fellow Scot, but Ferguson just "got" it. He still tops them all for me. And that includes Carson... Just barely.
