It was a gay debacle for Nana, who sat there making stupid faces and tittering like a retard while his guests duked it out. He was just lost. He fancied himself like he was an old-time TV talk show host, with his little cigarette holder on his desk, but he doesn't have any hosting skills at all, and always appears to be wildly uncomfortable with "steering the ship".

Lol the old timey TV host is a good analogy. That Dick Cavett used to have racists argue with black people on his show and he would be moderating. You know, because he wasn’t a scared little girl who’s body freezes up at confrontation (that doesn’t even involve him)

Even his fruity theme music was meant to invoke the old talk shows of yore. Then the camera would cut to Nana, in his two shirts, nervously fidgeting and anxiously tittering, pausing only to mindlessly hoot and repeat everything his guests just said. Nana couldn't host a Tupperware party, let alone a talk show.
