Yes he's a mush mouthed gindaloon, but he's also a damn good writer. You can argue that with me, since it's subjective opinion, but Rocky, Rocky Balboa, the script to Staying Alive (NOT the finished product), and the script to Paradise Alley proves that point.

His quality dropped sharply when Cannon got their claws into him and paid him a massive, multi picture contract to make whatever he wanted. And of course it was all shit, because that went to his head. I don't think he got any clarity until he got cast in Copland and finally started to actually act again. Everything in between that and Rhinestone is a guy on a power trip high off his own shit, even if there were a few good ones in there.

And for the record, he CAN do comedy. Watch "Oscar". If you have any appreciation for screwball comedies like "It Happened One Night" and "His Girl Friday", I think you'll be surprised.

Stallone tried to do comedy because Arnold had a huge hit with “Twins” which is surprisingly the movie Arnold made the most money out of all his work because he took points on the gross. Comedy didn’t work for Stallone and Arnold even tricked Sly into doing “Stop! or my mom will shoot” because he told him he wanted to do it even though he knew it was shit and Sly fell for it.

Also, he meant more the thing that made him stand out (being muscular like Arnold etc) could now be done by anyone with the help of a muscle suit which he saw as trouble for his career. He didn’t mean it to put down anyone, just what made him unique could be done with a suit.

Correct on both counts. Anyone can be an action star now, and it used to not be like that. Look at every Marvel film actor - forty years ago, they would not get those roles.

Can you imagine Jimmy Stewart bulking up to be Batman? Fuck no. He'd be the Commissioner at best.
