What's the first sign you can remember that TV/Movies were going down the shitter?

The Simpsons invented turning to shit

So I guess after 9/11
To double on this Fox cancelling Futurama after 2 seasons showed that networks weren't willing to pay for great shows anymore.

Comedy Central might have been the last great network going into mid 2010s and then they cut Metalocalypse and even the goddamn Venture Bros. Now all they have is South Park

House MD was the last network show I could enjoy til the end, and that was ten years ago. Movies in the early 00s could still be good, even if they were franchises. Lord of the Rings and Raimi’s Spider-Man were fun.

It got bad around 2012. Obama’s reelection and Hillary’s inevitable presidency gave Hollywood an extreme liberal arrogance and then they lost their minds in 2016.

Probably not what you're asking but I thought "reality" TV was a sign the Jews were getting really unbridled. Couldn't believe the newest form of entertainment was having your untalented faggot child globally humiliated by some homosexual British Kike while an audience of goyim soccer mom cunts obediently clapped along. The Learning Channel going from showing surgeries to gawking at morbidly fat people. Not that I don't hate fat people, but still.

The early 2000s were the end of whatever was left of morality in entertainment.

The amount of absolutely god awful films being pumped out in the early to mid 2000s is something else. The film industry was in a creative rut, and then a few years later they realized leaning into the Marvel slop was the key to making some money again.

Of course a few good ones were mixed in, but the sheer volume of dogshit is pretty amazing.

Here’s a bit of the stuff the early 2000s churned out

The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
Master of Disguise (2002)
Down to You (2000)
40 Days and 40 Nights (2002)
I Am Sam (2001)
Cold Creek Manor (2003)
Loser (2000)
The Perfect Storm (2000)
Coyote Ugly (2000)
Van Wilder (2002)
The Animal (2001)
Down to Earth (2001)
The Wedding Planner (2001)
Corky Romano (2001)
Van Helsing (2004)
Slackers (2002)
V for Vendetta (2005)
Waiting… (2005)
Monkeybone (2001)
Bring It On (2000)
Hollow Man (2000)
Charlie’s Angels (2000)
Saving Silverman (2001)
The Brothers (2001)
The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) (or any other Apatow pile of shit)
The Village (2004)
Bedazzled (2000)
Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Little Nicky (2000) (or mostly any Sandler film post 90s)

The Punisher (2004)
Orange County (2002)
Hardball (2001)
Crash (2004)

I could go on but this list is already autistic enough

Was there ever really a good sitcom besides Married With Children? I never watched Cheers or Frasier but they seem like they were "great" because nothing else was on back then.
Frasier is one of the funniest, wittiest and most clever shows ever written with soem of the best performances in comedy history.
