Games today are way too involved and complicated. I just wanna play a good baseball/football game but they're loaded with options where, as a player, you can check emails, manage social media profiles, interact with coaches, and all this other superfluous nonsense instead of just playing the game with a good hitting/pitching engine.
Super mega baseball looks cartoony but it’s good for that

Anyone remember NHL Hitz?

YES! Finally, someone remembers these besides me.

Steve and I would play Hitz 2003 and Pro like crazy on the Xbox, some of my last happy memories playing videogames. I love hockey, and beating the hell out of each other made for some intense sessions.

I might need to get an Xbox 360 again just to play those.

I like to play GTA online and help people out when they're being attacked by meanies. I cover them when they do their missions and stuff.
That wasn't you keeping the cops busy for me while I stole the tuner car from the impound, was it?

I fuck with like Red Dead Online and older Elder Scrolls and that’s about it. Put on an audiobook, get a little stoned, ride around the Old West like it’s life at the outpost.
I wonder how common this is. Usually I listen to podcasts or interviews only as background while I'm doing a tedious task or exercise etc, but occasionally theres a show I really want to listen to straight up and nothing else is occupying me. One of the things I'll do is look up "cab ride" on youtube, set the filter to long, and watch the view from the windshield of a modern locomotive going through wherever in the world while I finish the listen

Got back into Battlefield 4 recently for my realistic modern combat fix. I'll probably buy Dying Light 2 this winter. Looking forward to replaying Kingdom Come maybe this fall or winter, but with 2 dlc's thrown in and a change in play style for a different experience.

What do you recommend? The Zelda one is highly rated but I have literally played it once. Maybe I should give it another chance

Xenoblade Chronicles 1 & 2 (both are good, i like 1 the most though)

Dragon Quest 11

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Persona 5: Strikers

Astral Chain

Those are a few off the top of my head, a couple can be played on other consoles/pc.. but i find it comfier plating on the Switch to be honest wit cha. The Trails Of Cold Steel games are really good too, but they can be hit or miss depending how deep you go with the jrpgs, then there are the FF remasters.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 is coming out in November too.

@JimsDentedHead are any of those turn based games? Because I find that style so jarring and unenjoyable.

Someone recommended persona 5 a few years ago, download it on the PS4. Must've played it twice forcing myself to persist wondering what the appeal is. I just don't get it, and the turn based fighting makes no sense to me.

Persona 5 is different to Persona 5: Strikers, Strikers isn't turn based.. it's got fast paced real time combat with an emphasis on combos.

Out of those i recommended, Dragon Quest & Fire Emblem are turn based, along with the Trails Of Heroes games.

Also, i know you said you don't like turn based combat, however.. Divinity 2: Original Sin is one of the best games ever made imo, that's turn based but it works well. I duno, maybe worth a shot lol.

I got into it later, being into music most of my life. But it was a good time waster with friends, playing FIFA and the Sonic games.

The key thing I appreciated about Sega was that they took risks - may not always work, but when it did, you'd get Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, Nights, Burning Rangers, Vectorman, Shenmue... It's why I liked the first PlayStation so much, all the weird things they'd throw in there. I still like UmJammer Lammy and Deception 2.

I still wish I kept my Dreamcast - big mistake selling that off, but that was during my low point of rebuilding my life. I miss Virtua Tennis...
I'd send you mine gratis, but postage to Poland is ridic.

That's how I felt w Persona 4. I like Jap shit - I've been going through the entire Yakuza series for the past two years - but that game is tedious...

I like replaying fallout new vegas once in awhile, apex legends has some really cool movement mechanics for a first person shooter and w decent teammates it can be super fun, if you like strategy check out XCOM 2
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas were my jam back in the day. I don't play vidya much anymore, but occasionally I'll load up an old Fallout save and blast cumias away in the wastelands:

I used to turn big head mode on and when you'd knock someone's helmet off, their giant helmet is just sliding around the ice for the rest of the period. The fact that you could put guys through the glass was huge to me back then. NHL games have been the exact same level of boring poop for like 10+ years now except it seems like every year they take something cool out of the new game. You can't hip check or even hit guys over the boards into the benches anymore. I don't even think goalie fights are a thing anymore.

You reminded me of a classic...

Steve and I ended up turning a game into goalie vs. Goalie for scoring, we made it a requirement. This was Pro, the last one they made - simulation was preset, but you could make it arcade again easily. I forget what the teams were, but we were both drunk laughing because the commentator was yelling "BELFOUR!" and "JHABIULEN!" every time we got the puck.

I think Steve won on an open net shot.

My friend and I used to fuck around on fortnite where 8 year olds were horribly retarded but we would pump them up against our 4th random teammate and pretend like the random guy was a moron and asshole

You can still goalie fight but they both have to skate to the middle circle after the whistle

That's one of the only games I still play because of friends/brother playing it too.

I hate how I lay a dude out and a guy can immediately start to fight me, but I try to do the same and my faggot character starts slashing his stick around. I don't feel like looking it up cause if I find out how to do it I'd end up trying it every time like a faggot hypocrite

I’ve been playing this VR survival horror game called Into the Radius. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played.
