I once had a girlfriend who had 30k deposited when it should have been 300, or something like that it was like 15 years ago, and she was certain she was entitled to keep it, because she was greedy and found pseudo nonsense online to justify it. I told her to inform them asap and she was really angry at me, and she moved it to a friends account “because then they can’t ask for it back” - it was so retarded, and she ended up with a criminal charge of course. You know it’s not your money and when you move it you are stealing.

the first one is the check one you mentioned, which isn’t really a scam. You’re just telling the bank you’re taking out 40k and they allow you to expecting you to actually have it.
The second one is that at Chase ATMs they make you review your ATM service after a transaction. Most don’t close out of the window or review it. So people would come behind them, hit the “back” button on the review screen, and it would pull up the customers account and you could just pull out money. Which is also not a “scam” but fraud
