Honest question: why? What experience do they have? What gives their opinions any more valid than those of any guy at the bar? What have they done in life that makes them worth listening to--particularly the failed screenwriter?

Sure, it basically boils down to me liking to hear my own opinions regurgitated back to me. Aside from that, Ben Shapiro is pretty sharp and consistent, plus he's definitely an expert on legal matters so I like when he talks about specific cases or legal issues. I don't agree with him on everything but enough that I watch him almost every day.

PBD is harder to say, he just showed up in my Youtube feed one day and I ended up liking the shit he puts out for some reason. I think it's because his shit covers business/economics and politics. That plus his show makes me feel like I could be one of the panelists. I'd like to think I'm definitely more likeable than that Adam guy.

There's some very dodgy stuff about PBD's background and work history. As you know, he always says he was bad at everything in HS except maths, and had a Pat level GPA. Then he joined the Army for a few years. When he left he started dating a girl who worked in finance and he blagged himself a job at Morgan Stanley. He always makes sure to say "Morgan Stanley Dean Witter", which was their name for a short period in the late 90s. Not sure why he always frames it like that other than to time stamp when he was there. As far as I know, he's never mentioned what he did there, but Morgan Stanley are not in the habit of hiring people who don't have at least one degree. In the 80s and early 90s, you had traders who didn't have degrees, but Nick Leeson pretty much singlehandedly put an end to that.

Look up his "insurance company." It's a MLM scam by all accounts. A lot of disgruntled reviews from former employees. He also recently wrote a novel with one of the most hackneyed, laughably ridiculous sounding plots I've ever heard, despite not being able to string together a sentence in English without making a mistake.

There's no doubt he's wealthy, successful and a forceful personality (the ass kissing from all of his co-hosts makes the last one obvious) but he's also obviously a bullshitter. Rogan, for all his faults, looked like he clocked it pretty early on during PBD's appearance. He seemed grossed out by the oily Persian waiting till they were on camera to give him those excessive gifts.
