The report is from April 11, 2023 meaning he alerted them in 2022.
He didn't alert them right before it happened, what the fuck are you talking about? The report states that Patrick told them about the swatting "approximately a year ago" which was in 2022.

You're right, I didn't want to spoil everyone's fun by pointing this out.
The primary takeaway from this, for me anyway, is how it appears Rick tells very different versions of his story to his parents versus Nikki's parents.
Lynn herself has said she thinks we're neo-Nazis. She probably laps up whatever nonsense Rick feeds her because she shares his political opinions. But with his own parents, simple folk from rural Wisconsin who come from a lineage of conservatives, he just tells them this is an internet dispute because they won't sympathize with him if they figure out he's a toxic politicized cunt on social media. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't use social media at all and have no idea what he does in his free time because he doesn't tell them. Actually, we know his mother is on Twitter but she never uses her account.
Lynn is the one enabling Rick the most, his own parents are just rednecks out in the styx who barely talk to him.

That's interesting. I wouldn't contact them though. They've undoubtedly seen all the evidence. All known detectives/attorneys/etc have been contacted and not once have they responded or asked for anything. So I think it might just annoy them
