Jim's whole political system depends on the concept that "democrats and republicans are unauthentic. To be interesting, you need to be a centrist."
Here's why he's wrong:
1) It's not true. You can be a political extremist, both right and left, and can still be an interesting person.
2) He doesn't understand centrism. Centrism means, "I judge every issue on a case-by-case basis, without toeing the party line." For Jim, he thinks centrism means, "holding contradictory ideas in your head at the same time." That's not the same thing.
3) Who fucking cares about being 'authentic' or 'interesting' in the first place? Politics should be about standing up for the truth. Who cares what others think? For Jim, politics is about status and clout. He doesn't care about the truth. He only cares about, "what do my boyfriends Donald Trump and Jay Leno think?"
4) Holding two contradictory opinions doesn't make you cool, it makes you insane, indecisive, and/or cowardly. You can't be a Trump fanboy and marry a tranny at the same time. He's not a sophisticated voter, he's a literal faggot married to a man, and he worships Trump because the latter is a celebrity. It's not more complicated than that. If Trump were an unknown, Jim wouldn't pay him the time of day. He's gay. Jim is literally gay.

It’s really something else how many huge opportunities have been laid at Norton and Anthony’s feet and how they’ve managed to completely squander each one. If a smart, determined person were given even one of the many many huge chances these two were given, they'd likely be able to create generational wealth for themselves and their children. Instead, laziness, entitlement, stupidity, and just being genuinely horrible people has left them both sad pathetic has-beens who have been completely ostracized from their respective worlds and left them with nothing to look forward to but the anonymity and loneliness of the lower middle class lives they made for themselves. Fuck em both, I hope both their manly chicks plan a joint murder-suicide.

I don't know if it's been said yet and I'm not reading through the entire thread but being "married" to (and a bottom for) a 6 foot 4 Nordic transsexual with a giant dick is the funniest thing he's done. I always thought he was funny as the third mic on da show but his standup sucked. He's trying to parlay this relationship with this man into some kind of pawdcast or YouTube show or whatever the fuck but it's not working. I don't know what happens to Jim when Alan leaves him to be perfectly honest witcha...the days where Jim could pack big venues are long gone. Hopefully he didn't spend like a Cumia and managed the money he made during the Opie and Anthony days well.

People shit on Sam for being untalented on the radio yet to fair to him he’s working with the worst possible co-host for a daily radio show that discusses current events / pop culture since Norton has only watched 5 movies in his life and pretty much lives under a rock when it comes to current events.

He was playing a small venue near me about a year ago and I only know he was playing because they had to offer buy one get one tickets to fill seats.

Norton also did a good amount of appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno when a good amount of people actually watched that show. Leno might have been “safe” and seen as corny yet he was getting higher ratings than the current 3 late night shows combined. Even with that exposure it didn’t get him very far.

No hate for Jim who I am still a fan of from back in the day but the answer is simply that he is very past his prime. Most entertainers you can think of typically stop being at their best in their early to mid forties and that's kind of where Jim stopped being at his best also. He's 56 now, I'd say things started finishing up for him about 12-13 years ago.
I think for his age and how unentertaining I've found him over the past decade he's still doing good for himself. I find J&S mildly amusing every now and then but it is no O&A obviously, I've heard that his stand up is pretty awful these days also. I imagine he still makes a very nice living for himself.

I won’t knock you for listening to Jim and Sam because you probably have a commute or listen to stuff at work like me, and you simply run out of shit to listen to like I do. The few times Ive listened to Jim and Sam it has been godawful.
But Dave Attell (who Jimmy desperately wants to be btw) is older than Jim and still consistently funny. Fuckin Dice has a better standup act and is still funny off the cuff.

He has no personality beyond being a weird degenerate and the tides have turned on the kind of mileage he can get out of that nowadays. His true talent is being a third mic. His stand up is not very good at all and every idea he ever tried to flesh out was awful. He's never really had any triumph as a creator, just as a sidekick.
