Why do people always fall for the socialist “TAX THE RICH” stuff when cursory research sees they pay the most tax income?

Ok so here's a more realistic scenario for you to follow based off of actual numbers.

California minimum wage at $20 is only for fast food workers. The rest of the state is $16 an hour.

That means there are chances of said scenario.

Some company that may give you better future opportunities but start you at $18 an hour.

Dumb 19 year old sees $20 and thinks it's better and choose McDonald's.

1 year later that $18 an hour job can become a $22 an hour job because of the future opportunities it was prospected initially to have.

McDonald's is still paying the minimum wage after a year which would have probably increased to $21 an hour.

So in the end less.

How is this some Facebook meme?

I just don't think someone with a high school education is choosing the heavy stigma of the fast food industry over unionized trades. Even with the short term pay gap, nobody wants to say they work in fast food out loud.

Why do you care so deeply about a babbling idiot who would choose McDonalds over a company with career advancement?

“B-b-but what if absolute morons don’t pick the best jobs then???? They need to be paid very badly so that they can’t live on their income and are forced to apply for other jobs or be homeless! That way they don’t lose that sweet $1/hr (after a year)”

Your entire argument is retarded and only makes sense to someone who already blindly believes that raising the minimum wage is bad.

Maybe we should make the minimum wage $100 an hour?

The majority of anti-minimum wage arguments are completely retarded and there’s plenty of evidence showing it (if you actually look).

But the main one, and the one that I can’t believe so many fucking idiots on the right don’t realize, is that minimum wage employees are subsidized by tax payer money.

The person getting minimum wage is receiving support for housing, food, insurance, etc. That all comes from tax payer money.

Why are massively successful companies paying people who work 40hrs a week so little that they need government support, and why should my money serve as that support?

I think that if you make less than $50k a year, then you should get a UBI. Different UBI amount depending on how much you're making etc.

To qualify you'd have to have a job, so no being a dead beat collecting welfare and food stamps along with the UBI.

Only problem is if that happened, it would probably cause things like rent to increase for many people. I know for certain that if I rented out my place I'd be sure to charge a little more knowing that the individual gets their UBI.
